Extreme Slowness of xPages on the Notes Client

xPages in the Notes Client is extremely slow. This has been written about in several blogs and IBM is very aware of the problem.

As I understand it, a resolution using preloading of Java files is due to be included in the next maintenance release.

I have an extremely large application which is being launched in May. This application is mostly accessed from the Notes client, but also from the web. It is heavily used on a daily basis and is mission critical.

I need a workaround now so that the client does not continue to experience the lengthy waits that they currently do when testing, which is very concerning to them.

I also would request that future major changes such as the introduction of xPages be performance tested before they are released, and that where there is a lacking, this be clearly communicated, so developers can make an educated decision regarding where and when to deploy them.
